About The Position

The Sr Director of Vendor Management will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive vendor management program across the enterprise. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a robust framework that ensures strategic alignment, risk management, and cost optimization in our vendor relationships. This is a leadership role that requires strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in large-scale vendor management.

Requirements

  • Related Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years related work experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field to include experience within healthcare or financial services
  • 5+ years direct supervisory/management experience
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing vendor management frameworks and programs
  • Strong understanding of vendor management best practices, including risk management, contract management, and performance monitoring
  • Experience working in a large, complex organization with multiple stakeholders and vendors
  • Strong knowledge of vendor management principles, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards
  • Experience with vendor management software and tools, such as vendor management systems (VMS) and contract management systems
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations
  • Excellent project management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen, with ability to understand business operations and inform strategic decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and inform business decisions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience in a similar industry or sector Certification in vendor management, such as Certified Professional in Vendor Management (CPVM) or Certified Vendor Manager (CVM)
  • Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices Strong knowledge of cloud computing, software as a service (SaaS), and other emerging technologies

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management Framework: Create a comprehensive framework, including policies, procedures, and standards, and establishing a vendor governance structure with defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Vendor Performance and Risk Management: Conduct thorough analysis of vendor performance, risk, and compliance to inform strategic decision-making, and implement programs for vendor performance management, risk assessment, mitigation, and monitoring. Work with the GuideWell risk teams to ensure continuity.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the vendor management team, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and effective vendor management.
  • Reporting and Insights: Develop and implement reporting frameworks to measure vendor performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs), and provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership and other key stakeholders on vendor performance and program effectiveness.
  • Strategic Relationships and Cost Optimization: Foster strategic relationships with key vendors to drive business value, innovation, and cost savings, and identify operational improvement and efficiency opportunities stemming from vendor-led services and contracts.
  • Budget Management and Compliance: Developing and managing the vendor management budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
