Sr. Director, Tariff Command Center Responsible for leading Avnet’s tariff mitigation strategy and execution, including cross functional coordination with Supplier / Customer management, Compliance, Logistics, Finance, and others. This leadership role drives end-to-end tariff management, optimization, recovery, supplier engagement, and operational execution across Avnet’s electronics and semiconductor distribution business. Serves as the company’s strategic point of contact for tariff impact forecasting, mitigation performance, and trade strategy both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of managing multiple senior level stakeholders, leading and managing tariff initiatives, including supplier engagement, cross-border compliance execution, ELT reporting, and optimizing tariff exposure
  • Deep expertise in import/export regulations, HTS classification, Incoterms, valuation, and international shipping models
  • Strong communicator with ability to balance relationship building and compliance enforcement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of trade-related financial levers including cost-benefit analysis, transfer pricing, and landed cost modeling
  • Experience in electronics, semiconductor, component distribution, or retail environments
  • Typically, 12+ years including 8+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor's / Advanced degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained
  • Extensive background with trade compliance, logistics, or sourcing roles, with demonstrated success leading tariff strategy and trade recovery programs in a high-tech, distribution, semiconductor or retail environment.

  • Proficiency with SAP, GTS, ACE, Integration Point, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar analytics platforms
  • Preferred certifications: U.S. Customs Broker License, CSCP, or CTL

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of Avnet’s tariff mitigation and compliance strategies; strategies will target tariff mitigation while supporting inventory optimization, customer & supplier contract requirements, and logistics performance
  • Provides strategic insights to optimize various Avnet activities for tariff exposure across functions, which includes logistics execution, supplier engagement, and trade operations
  • Oversees end-to-end tariff process management, ensuring consistency in workflows, and documentation standards
  • Coordinates tariff cost forecasting, mitigation strategies, relative prioritization, and end-to-end accountability in partnership with internal stakeholders in Supply Chain, Logistics, and others
  • Leads supplier-facing tariff strategy and contract alignment, ensuring data readiness and continuous improvement of trade operations and service levels, including IOR assignment, COO/COD strategy, and First Sale Rule monitoring
  • Ensures alignment of tariff compliance requirements with operational performance and customer delivery commitments
  • Guides the development of enterprise tools and dashboards for tracking tariff recovery, exposure, and compliance metrics
  • Advises on country-of-origin structuring, classification, valuation, and Incoterms for shipments
  • Leads conversations with customs brokers, trade advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed to ensure compliance and advocacy alignment
  • Leads a high-performing team responsible for driving results in compliance, data integrity, trade controls, and logistics efficiency
  • Supports strategic customer programs with tariff exposure analysis and mitigation
  • Leads tariff drawback recovery to increase recovery percentage & expedite processes
