The Sr. Director Specialist Services plays a critical leadership role in advancing cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies within the veterinary diagnostic imaging space. This position serves as the medical authority and strategic partner for the Next Generation Technologies (NGT) team, ensuring the development, validation, and deployment of innovative AI/ML solutions that enhance diagnostic accuracy and clinical workflows. This role is responsible for overseeing the medical integrity of AI models, guiding radiologist training, and ensuring that AI-driven insights are clinically meaningful and seamlessly integrated into end-user interfaces. In addition, this individual represents the organization at veterinary conferences, academic institutions, and client sites, delivering educational programs and fostering adoption of new technologies. This role requires a deep expertise in veterinary radiology, a strong background in AI/ML applications, and a passion for advancing veterinary medicine through innovative research and development. The Target pay range for this position is $241,500 - $302,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training, and budget.

Requirements

  • Veterinary Medical Doctorate (DVM or equivalent) with diplomate status in veterinary radiology (DACVR or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Medical Leadership for Next Generation Technologies (NGT) Team Serve as the Medical Lead for the NGT team, providing expert guidance on all medical questions related to AI/ML applications.
  • Evaluate third-party software tools essential for image labeling and quality control.
  • Ensure the quality and usability of AI/ML interfaces for end-user medical professionals.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and NGT teams to determine the release of AI/ML findings to clinics.
  • Lead training initiatives for radiologists on labeling protocols, AI/ML interfaces, quality control, and assessment development.
  • Training and Education Develop educational materials, including presentations and videos for hospital onboarding, covering: Introduction of new products and product features. Workflow and case submission processes. Overview of research and development activities.
  • Act as the primary medical contact for client inquiries.
  • Partner with Educational, Marketing, and Sales teams to create multimedia educational resources for end users.
  • Provide training to Sales teams on the medical impact of new products.
  • Create and proofread educational, marketing and guideline documents.
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) for AI/ML Diagnostic Imaging Models Oversee the complete and accurate development of AI models, including testing new models.
  • Evaluate precision and accuracy metrics to approve new findings for hospital release.
  • Review labeling accuracy and radiologist interaction with AI interfaces.
  • Ensure assessments are meaningful and add value to diagnostic reports.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to gather and evaluate customer feedback on interface usability and report quality.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing QA/QC procedures, including review of AI case reports, customer interactions, and educational/marketing materials.
  • Product Development and Collaboration Work closely with the Marketing team to prioritize product improvements and feature development to enhance customer experience while ensuring quality pet care.
  • Collaborate with the AIS programming team to optimize radiologist interfaces and AI-generated reports by: Ensuring user-friendly report submission processes. Using relevant conventional and medical language tailored to end-users. Maintaining standardized and current medical terminology.
  • Cross-Departmental Consultation Provide expert consultation to other departments as needed for the development and launch of AI/ML products.
  • Continuing Education, Research and Outreach Respond to requests from Sales, Marketing, and Education teams by delivering lectures and continuing education (CE) sessions as needed.
  • Support educational outreach at veterinary conferences, universities, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Function as lead contact for third party AI research and interests.
  • Lead or collaborate on clinical and methodological research projects related to AI/ML in veterinary diagnostic imaging, including study design, protocol development, and clinical interpretation of results.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for peer‑reviewed journals and scientific conferences.
  • Travel Requirements Participate in major veterinary conferences to assist Marketing with educational presentations.
  • Attend Mars meetings and conferences for informational and educational purposes.
  • Travel to universities, hospitals, and clinics to educate radiologists, radiologists-in-training, veterinary students, general practitioners, and non-imaging specialists as needed.
