About The Position

As our Senior Director, R D, Cytology, you will drive visionary leadership and operational excellence for a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. You'll partner closely with cross-functional colleagues to develop, launch, and support game-changing diagnostic products—especially in cervical cancer screening, digital pathology, and sample processing. Your leadership will shape both the future of our portfolio and the everyday experience of patients worldwide.

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience in R D, product development, or sustaining engineering (with at least 5 years in senior leadership), preferably in diagnostics, medical devices, or life sciences.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) strongly preferred.
• Deep technical expertise in biology, cytology, and clinical laboratory testing practices.
• In-depth knowledge of medical device regulations and standards (FDA, ISO, CE Mark).
• Track record of leading successful product development projects from concept to commercialization.
• Proven ability to inspire, build, and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with lean methodologies and driving organizational transformation is highly valued.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and strategic problem-solving skills.

• Develop and execute bold product strategies, from concept through commercialization, in partnership with R D and business leadership.
• Lead the development of differentiating new capabilities and support on-market products to fuel our growth agenda.
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, diverse, and engaged team—fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and operational excellence.
• Drive a unified 'one-team' culture across global sites, partnering with Marketing, Commercial, and other stakeholders to deliver a robust, differentiated product pipeline.
• Champion lean methodologies and process optimization, ensuring quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction at every stage.
• Represent Hologic at conferences, trade shows, and professional meetings—showcasing our thought leadership and innovation.
