The Sr. Director Program Manager is accountable for the successful end‑to‑end delivery of a large‑scale SAP implementation. This role provides overall leadership, governance, and execution oversight across all workstreams to ensure the program delivers agreed business outcomes on time, within scope, and within budget. The Program Manager integrates business, functional, technical, and operational efforts, manages program risks and dependencies, and serves as the primary interface between executive stakeholders, business leaders, system integrators, and delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale, complex enterprise programs, including SAP implementations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cross-functional workstreams and dependencies.
  • Proven experience working with executive stakeholders and facilitating complex decision-making.
  • Strong experience managing program budgets, forecasts, and vendor performance.

Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership & Accountability Own overall SAP program delivery from initiation through go‑live and stabilization.
  • Establish clear program objectives, scope, milestones, and success metrics aligned to business outcomes.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for program performance and delivery health.
  • Planning & Execution Management Develop and maintain the integrated program plan, including dependencies across functional, technical, data, testing, cutover, and deployment workstreams.
  • Ensure disciplined execution against the plan, proactively managing schedule, scope, budget, and resource alignment.
  • Drive integrated decision‑making and resolve cross‑workstream conflicts.
  • Governance & Stakeholder Management Establish and run program governance, including SteerCo, design reviews, and delivery cadence forums.
  • Provide clear, concise, and transparent status reporting to executive leadership.
  • Facilitate timely decisions by presenting options, risks, impacts, and recommendations.
  • Risk, Issue & Dependency Management Proactively identify, assess, and manage program‑level risks and issues.
  • Own mitigation and contingency planning for high‑impact delivery risks.
  • Manage cross‑stream dependencies to minimize disruption and delivery surprises.
  • Financial & Vendor Management Own program budget, forecasts, and financial controls.
  • Manage system integrators and vendors to contracted scope, quality, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure effective use of internal and external resources.
  • Quality, Readiness & Go‑Live Oversight Ensure quality and readiness across solution design, build, testing, data conversion, and cutover.
  • Validate readiness criteria are met for testing phases, deployment, and go‑live.
  • Own overall go‑live orchestration and transition to steady‑state operations.
