About The Position

The AI program manager role will be responsible for shaping and executing a global strategy to embed physical artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation across GEV GP manufacturing footprint. This role will lead the transformation of factories into AI-driven, highly automated, and resilient production systems, leveraging robotics, autonomous material handling, agentic AI, computer vision, and industrial IoT. The role sets-up the IT strategy as well drive operational execution working closely with GSC functional leadership. This role will partner with Robotics council, external partners and internal teams to ensure our factories are at the forefront of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 capabilities and positioning physical AI as a growth pillar for the business —delivering business impact, and breakthrough performance in productivity, safety, quality, sustainability and resilience. This role requires a deeply skilled program leader with extensive experience managing end-to-end delivery of AI-driven products and services within large, matrixed organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing technology, automation, Artificial Intelligence or industrial digital transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Define the global vision and IT roadmap for Physical AI and Automation in alignment with manufacturing and digital strategies.
  • Build and lead a IT center of excellence for robotics, automation, and physical AI, ensuring knowledge sharing across regions.
  • Act as a thought leader internally and externally, representing the company in industry forums, partnerships, and joint innovation programs.
  • Drive the integration of AI-driven robotics, cobots, AGVs/AMRs, IT systems (MES/ERP/PLM) and autonomous production systems across global sites.
  • Oversee the design and deployment of AI-enhanced robotics systems (e.g., adaptive machining, predictive quality inspection, autonomous material flow).
  • Champion industrial data & AI platforms, ensuring scalable and modern data architecture and AI Ops.
  • Lead global programs to standardize and scale automation solutions across the manufacturing footprint while adapting to regional/local contexts.
  • Ensure interoperability of AI/robotics platforms with enterprise IT/OT ecosystems.
  • Support global KPIs for productivity, quality, OEE, energy efficiency, workforce augmentation, and sustainability impact.
  • Develop and mentor a world-class team of data engineers, data architects, manufacturing process experts, and automation specialists.
  • Drive workforce transformation—reskilling programs, human-robot collaboration models, and safe deployment of automation.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement across factories.
  • Forge strategic alliances with global technology partners, startups, universities, and research labs to co-innovate on physical AI applications.
  • Shape the company’s role in industrial standards bodies and AI/robotics consortiums.
  • Evaluate M&A or joint venture opportunities to accelerate automation capabilities.
  • Own and drive the comprehensive program-level strategy for AI solution delivery, including creating and maintaining a dynamic roadmap that aligns with business priorities, technical capability maturation, and enterprise transformation goals within the multi-generation product development framework.
