We are in search of a seasoned and strategic Senior Director of Procurement to oversee the procurement operations for Measurement and Controls Solutions. This crucial position involves managing an annual expenditure of $802 million, ensuring the streamlined and effective procurement of materials, services, and equipment vital to our business activities. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in promoting product line and supplier simplification on a global scale within our Measurement and Control Solutions segment. Success in this position will depend heavily on team development and cultivating a high-performance culture.

  • Develop and implement and integrate procurement strategies: Design and execute comprehensive procurement strategies that align with business objectives and category strategies that will drive productivity, resilience & product margin improvement.
  • Supplier management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services at competitive prices.
  • Spend management: Oversee the management of an $802 million annual spend, ensuring budget compliance, cost control, and financial performance.
  • Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a high impact culture, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Risk management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, market fluctuations, and supplier performance to ensure business continuity.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and engineering teams, to align procurement activities with business needs and objectives.
  • Performance metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Closely integrate with Operations, Engineering and Product Management to implement new products and redesign’s introductions into production.
  • 80/20: Partner with segment leadership to drive Xylem’s 80/20 transformation while playing a visible and impactful role in the Product Line Simplification workstream.
  • Simplification: Partner with category management and operations to reduce SQUs and drive consolidation of spend towards strategic suppliers.
  • Sustainability: Drive Xylem’s sustainability goals including but not limited to Watermark, Supplier Diversity, Ecovadis, CDP and Xylem’s 2030 water goals.
  • Cost: Achieve savings objectives and manage working capital contributions, including payment terms and community metrics.
  • Performance: Guarantee suppliers meet quality standards and on-time delivery goals.
  • Technology: Ensure access to supplier-driven technologies and innovations.
  • Savings Funnel: Generate a substantial pool of ideas with impacts extending beyond the current fiscal year.
  • Execute and promote the implementation of Coupa, SAP S4 and other digital procurement initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, materials or logistics management, engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within a comparable role
  • Experience in multiple areas of procurement (e.g. indirect/direct categories, strategy/ planning, program management)
  • Experience leading/supporting a cross-functional team (e.g. procurement, product development, finance)
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Ability to travel, as requested (approximately 40%)
  • Graduate/master's level preferred.
  • International professional experience preferred
  • Build positive relationships and represent Procurement with cross-functional business partners (e.g. category management teams and local site procurement teams, etc.)
