About The Position

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c). Our success is driven by our people. The Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (G&A Categories) is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing sourcing and procurement strategies across key corporate functions, including Information Technology, Corporate Services, Consulting, Contingent Labor, and Travel. This role ensures the organization has access to high-quality services, technologies, and partners required to support business operations and enable organizational growth. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in indirect procurement and strategic sourcing, with the ability to partner effectively across IT, Finance, HR, Legal, and other corporate functions. This leader will drive value through category strategy development, supplier optimization, cost management, and operational excellence, while ensuring strong governance, risk management, and alignment with corporate priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain, with significant experience across G&A categories such as IT, consulting, contingent labor, and corporate services.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing category strategies in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong negotiation experience across a range of contract types, including SaaS, consulting, and managed services agreements.
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex RFP processes and deliver results in matrixed organizations.
  • Strong understanding of supplier markets across IT, professional services, and workforce solutions.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with procurement platforms such as Coupa, with the ability to drive sourcing efficiency, spend visibility, and process optimization.
  • Position will be based in West Conshohocken, PA or Waltham, MA and will require 3 days per week in the office.
  • Travel requirements up to 20%, depending on business needs and supplier engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership Develop and communicate the strategic vision, goals, and roadmap for G&A Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, aligning with enterprise priorities and functional objectives.
  • Lead category strategy development across core G&A areas, including: Information Technology (SaaS, software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms) Corporate Services (facilities, legal services, HR services, finance support services) Consulting and Professional Services (management consulting, advisory, audit, tax) Contingent Labor and workforce solutions
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across IT, Finance, HR, Legal, and other functions to understand business needs and ensure sourcing strategies enable scalability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sourcing function, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Supplier Relationship Management Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships across G&A categories, ensuring high performance, service quality, and value delivery.
  • Lead negotiations for complex MSAs and SOWs, including SaaS contracts, consulting agreements, managed services, and contingent labor contracts.
  • Lead and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with strategic suppliers to monitor performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier solutions meet functional and operational requirements while managing risk and compliance.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Excellence Establish and maintain best-in-class sourcing methodologies, procurement policies, and governance frameworks across G&A categories.
  • Lead and manage large, complex RFPs and sourcing initiatives, including scope definition, stakeholder alignment, supplier evaluation, commercial analysis, negotiation strategy, and supplier selection.
  • Drive sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings, improve supplier performance, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Leverage procurement technologies (e.g., Coupa) to enhance sourcing processes, contract management, and spend visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, financial controls, and applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Performance Management Define and track KPIs to measure sourcing effectiveness, supplier performance, cost savings, and value creation.
  • Conduct spend analysis, supplier risk assessments, and market benchmarking to inform category strategies and identify opportunities.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to executive leadership to support decision-making and financial planning.
