About The Position

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Indirect Taxes to lead the property and sales & use tax functions. This role is crucial for driving compliance, managing audits, mitigating risk, and developing strategies to optimize the organization's indirect tax approach. The Director will work closely with internal departments, tax authorities, and external advisors to ensure compliance and efficiency, contributing to the company's growth and corporate responsibility.

Requirements

• Minimum five (5) years tax experience.
• Minimum six (6) years supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field AND Minimum twelve (12) years accounting or related business experience.

Responsibilities

• Model and drive continuous learning and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives.
• Oversee the operation of multiple units and departments by identifying customer and operational needs and incorporating them into business plans.
• Support financial transactions by reviewing and approving complex accounting activities and providing guidance on technical issues.
• Coordinate external reporting of Company financial information and ensure reporting requirements are met.
• Support financial analyses by reviewing operational statistics and directing the establishment of data gathering methods.
• Communicate financial results by developing and presenting conclusions to senior management and documenting processes for audit requirements.
• Lead finance system design, implementations, enhancements, and continuous improvements.
• Monitor Company financial information by reviewing and interpreting reports and making recommendations based on findings.
• Meet compliance requirements and ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by managing relationships with auditors and resolving issues.
