About The Position

Empower, a Provider-Led Arkansas Shared Savings Entity (PASSE) serving Medicaid clients with complex behavioral health, developmental, or intellectual disabilities, is seeking a Sr. Director of Data and Analytics. This is a hands-on, deliverable-oriented senior leadership role responsible for Empower's enterprise data strategy, data governance, reporting, and analytics. The ideal candidate is an experienced technologist who will define, implement, and test solutions while leading and scaling our data and analytics practice. This leader will serve as the authority for data definition, analytics standards, and reporting outcomes, ensuring all data, reports, and analytics are accurate, trusted, compliant, and strategically aligned with the organization's needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of healthcare analytics or data management experience (required).
  • 5+ years of experience leading enterprise-level analytics or data organizations (required).
  • 4+ years collaborating with business owners to define and manage data analytics and reporting requirements.
  • 4+ years of coaching, mentoring, and developing a team.
  • 2+ years working in an Azure-based Microsoft Fabric data platform, including OneLake, Data Factory, Lakehouse, and Power BI.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare payer concepts, data models, and reporting patterns; Medicaid experience highly desired.
  • Experience with common healthcare payer activities, including HEDIS reporting, trend-based analytics for member enrollment, claims analytics, MLR modeling, and financial analytics (in cooperation with Empower's actuarial team).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities; proven ability to manage multiple initiatives/projects with critical deadlines and handle critical ad hoc operational requests/issues without significant impact to ongoing projects.
  • Proven track record of working with distributed teams, stakeholders, peers, and vendors; ability to travel on a limited basis.
  • Senior-level communication and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with health insurance industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA and PASSE requirements.
