The Sr. Director of AI and Technology Policy at Vanderbilt University is a leadership role within the Vanderbilt Policy Accelerator (VPA) focused on developing and implementing a comprehensive AI and technology policy agenda.   • Lead the development and implementation of the AI and tech policy agenda and research portfolio.
  • Evaluate pressing challenges in technology policy and develop a comprehensive tech policy agenda.
  • Lead research on the regulation of technology across various platforms.
  • Develop policy proposals to improve tech governance and consumer protections.
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the Tech Policy Blueprint Initiative.
  • Supervise and train VPA staff and fellows relevant to tech policy.
  • Manage public relations and communications in consultation with leadership.
  • Oversee project management of key initiatives and ensure administrative accuracy.
  • Advise on key components of the VPA budget.
  • Expand outreach and develop relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Manage production of research, white papers, and policy communications.
  • Provide strategic advice to the faculty and executive directors.
  • Manage programming and public outreach related to VPA priorities.
  • A master's degree in legal studies or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Interest in economic policy, political economy, regulation, and/or law.
  • High levels of integrity and openness to collaboration.
  • Executive level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate maturity, creativity, and initiative.
  • Ability to make sound administrative decisions.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to provide technical advice and information to staff.
