About The Position

The Sr. Director of Network Systems Engineering will provide strategic leadership for McKesson’s global network infrastructure, including data centers, distribution centers, remote locations, and hybrid cloud environments. This role is responsible for defining and executing the network engineering strategy, driving modernization initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence across a large-scale enterprise environment. The Sr. Director will lead a team of senior engineers and managers, foster innovation and collaboration while aligning technology solutions with McKesson’s business objectives. The Sr. Director will have deep technical expertise combined with strong business acumen, capable of transforming complex challenges into executable strategies. This role oversees the design, implementation, and governance of network systems globally, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, driving automation, and leading network transformation programs to support McKesson’s digital future.

Requirements

  • Typically has 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skill (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in large-scale network engineering and operations (Cisco/Arista environments).
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing senior technical teams in enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of network transformation and cloud migration.
  • Expertise in automation, software-defined networking, virtualization, and hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate technical strategies in business terms.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to design and implement innovative solutions.
  • Self-starter with a focus on delivering results.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, AWS/Azure networking) preferred.

Responsibilities
