Position Summary The Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition serves as Illumina’s enterprise-wide strategic leader for attracting, engaging and hiring top talent. This role is accountable for shaping and executing a global recruiting strategy, while driving consistent global processes, and championing a technology-forward, AI-enabled recruiting ecosystem. As a strategic leader, the Senior Director plays a critical role in building organizational capability and has a direct impact on Illumina’s growth, innovation, and culture. This role reports to the VP, Total Rewards, Talent and Corporate Social Responsibility.

  • Agile and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced, complex global environments
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 20 years of related experience, with 12+ years of Management experience

  • Proven success leading global recruiting strategies across multiple regions
  • Expertise in employer branding, workforce planning, and modern recruitment technologies (ATS, CRM, AI-driven sourcing)
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide, high-volume recruitment initiatives
  • Biotechnology or technology industry experience preferred
  • Blend of corporate, agency and executive search experience highly valued
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to align global talent acquisition strategy with enterprise business goals and long-range workforce plans
  • Work with leaders to forecast global talent needs and build proactive, scalable hiring strategies that deliver high-impact results
  • Lead executive recruiting, ensuring Illumina attracts and hires top-tier leadership talent capable of driving global growth and innovation
  • Embed enterprise and global mindset into all TA programs, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment across regions and business units
  • Leverage advanced analytics, market intelligence, and competitive insights to guide decision-making and influence stakeholders
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen the employee value proposition and employer brand, elevating the candidate experience across all global markets
  • Oversee recruitment operations across, ensuring process excellence, compliance with local labor laws, and unified stakeholder experience
  • Champion adoption of technologies, AI-driven tools, and digital capabilities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and candidate engagement
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of talent acquisition professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation
