About The Position

The Senior Director, Project Management Office (PMO) – Finance is a senior finance leader responsible for establishing, leading, and evolving the enterprise Finance PMO to ensure effective execution of strategic initiatives across Finance. This role partners closely with Finance leadership and enterprise stakeholders to drive disciplined project governance, resource prioritization, financial rigor, and value realization aligned with business objectives. The role provides strategic oversight across complex, cross-functional finance initiatives such as financial transformation, regulatory readiness, operating model changes, M&A integration, cost optimization, and major finance process or system implementations (finance-owned scope).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 12+ years of experience in Finance, Financial Transformation, PMO Leadership, or enterprise governance roles.
  • Proven leadership experience managing complex, multi-year, cross-functional finance initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen, including business case development, budget oversight, and benefits realization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive outcomes in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience in large, complex organizations.

  • MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the Finance PMO strategy, operating model, governance framework, and performance standards.
  • Establish consistent project management, financial tracking, and reporting disciplines tailored to Finance initiatives.
  • Ensure Finance initiatives are aligned with enterprise strategy, financial priorities, and risk management frameworks.
  • Oversee the Finance project portfolio, including intake, prioritization, sequencing, and dependency management.
  • Drive financial transparency, ensuring clear business cases, cost-to-benefit tracking, and ROI realization.
  • Proactively identify portfolio risks, financial impacts, resource constraints, and mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and Finance Leadership Team on initiative progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Lead Finance governance forums, steering committees, and executive reviews.
  • Provide concise, decision-oriented reporting on milestones, budgets, benefits, and risks.
  • Partner with FP&A, Controllership, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, Risk, HR, and enterprise PMOs to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Coordinate Finance-owned deliverables across enterprise-wide initiatives (e.g., transformation, regulatory, M&A).
  • Embed strong change management, communication, and adoption practices within Finance initiatives.
  • Build PMO capability through talent development, standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, execution discipline, and continuous improvement within Finance.
  • Lead, develop, and scale a team of Finance PMO professionals.
  • Set clear performance expectations, career paths, and succession plans.
