Sr Dir of BAW New Technology and Product Introduction Job Summary In the span of a few years, Skyworks' BAW technology has advanced to be one of the leading competitors in the field of high-frequency RF. As we continue to drive and expand, Skyworks is seeking a Senior Director to lead engineering development efforts and technology roadmaps to drive BAW technology development into high-volume production and products to market, ensuring commercial success. Provide leadership to the BAW engineering team, including setting the product vision and supporting the development and production of products from beginning to end of life. Formulate and drive best practices that are adopted across the BAW engineering organization; drive an execution and efficiency mindset across all engineering functions as it relates to operationalizing the BAW technology development. Responsibilities PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsibilities include directing, leading and managing the technical activities in one or more engineering disciplines (mechanical, software, packaging, electrical, reliability, systems, applications, or process engineering). Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Job Description Provide comprehensive leadership addressing a variety of activities including working cross-functionally with all departments. Be prepared to provide high-level technical contributions to customer relationships. Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Collaborate and openly debate with teams to manage projects, solve problems, discuss challenging issues, and learn more about critical issues as a group. Implement or improve solutions to minimize disruptions in the NTI workflow. Identify and drive continuous improvement in the organization, NTI process and associated department through feedback loops to capture lessons learned from each Technology Project. Report and maintain knowledge on Technology status to executive leadership by preparing appropriate reports.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Material Science, Applied Physics or equivalent. RF Engineering a plus.
  • 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a minimum of 10 years of leadership roles for a global semiconductor organization.
  • Experience operationalizing business technology development.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • A proven leader of an engineering team with experience leading effectively in a multi-cultural, multi-geographic engineering environment.
  • A proven record of aggressively driving products into market in a high-volume production environment (ideally, BAW technology development and New Product Introduction (NPI) of BAW technology into high volume production).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, both technical and interpersonal.
  • Pragmatic and flexible attitude with a result- and data-driven can-do mentality.
  • Works autonomously, well-organized, with strong attention to detail, while setting high standards in all aspects of the work
