About The Position

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to test and modify general systems-level software/hardware, specialized utility, and/or hardware. The role involves interpreting wireless specifications, designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures, and documenting systems-level defects using a bug tracking system. The engineer will identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and document problems with program function, output, or content, and develop testing programs that assess the effectiveness of new systems or modifications of existing systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 9+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• 15+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts staff meetings to address technical and people problems, quality initiatives, efficiencies, and customer support areas.
• Provides guidance across teams on prioritization of work tasks.
• Conducts regular meetings with senior level engineers to identify larger root causes associated with recurring issues.
• Leads the design, implementation, testing, and communication of issues associated with high visibility projects.
• Ensures support and thought leadership regarding systems failure identification.
• Motivates teams to perform at their best and accept change.
• Reviews projects to determine necessary analyses and assigns tasks accordingly.
• Manages the implementation of a testing plan ensuring comprehensive test case coverage.
• Creates overarching test strategy to direct team work.
• Checks in with senior engineers to determine project status and assist with overcoming barriers.
• Allocates workload among senior team members considering availability and skill set.
• Develops, coaches, and mentors senior team members.
• Sets strategic direction for the discipline and communicates it across the organization.
• Leads discussions on feature requirements and organization-wide implications.
• Advises senior team members on effective job performance.
• Manages team performance through regular meetings and evaluations.
• Works with representatives from other functions to integrate testing with larger initiatives.
