About The Position

This individual will serve as the lead for Teva's Sanctions Compliance Function, leading and participating in a range of activities including third party screening, policy development, training, and cross functional coordination with legal, supply chain, IT, Internal Audit and other business units. This critical role will help ensure Teva's adherence to a complex and rapidly evolving portfolio of international trade laws in a changing geo-political landscape where the risks are significant, and adept leadership can have a significant and lasting impact. The individual will also serve as a business partner and compliance advisor to multiple business areas within Teva Global Operations (TGO), including manufacturing segments and the supporting functions. The role, along with other senior members of the team, will oversee the TGO Compliance & Ethics Program, ensuring it is effectively implemented and evolving to meet the needs of the business, in alignment with the Global Compliance & Ethics strategy and framework. This role will have extensive interaction with the Global Compliance & Ethics (GC&E) global network of Local Compliance Officer's (LCO's) which implement the TGO GC&E program at Teva's manufacturing sites. The TGO Compliance & Ethics program includes creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement on the following program elements: Compliance & Ethics Training and Communications, Risk Assessment and Monitoring, Tone from Leadership and Ethical Culture, Policies and Guidance, Compliance & Ethics advice, coaching and issue remediation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) is required. Advanced degree (Masters' Degree or Juris Doctorate) is preferred
  • 15+ years' experience, preferably in healthcare environment and the pharmaceutical industry, with minimum of 5 years in compliance/risk related role
  • 5+ years supervisory or people leadership experience
  • Strong project management skills with oversight experience in both internal and external projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability in participating and leading cross-functional teams
  • Pharmaceutical leadership, including experience in strategy development and interaction with business partners and third parties
  • Must have strong healthcare industry knowledge and experience working with Operations, Sales, Marketing, Legal, HR, and Regulatory
  • Experience with international Sanctions
  • Experience in third party oversight
  • Ability to successfully partner with multiple business units and influencing others at all levels of the organization
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and tackle complex problems
  • Strong executive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sanctions Compliance Program
  • Oversee Sanctions Screening, Sanctions Training and Sanctions Policy Development and Maintenance
  • Sanctions Business Partner to Legal, Supply Chain, IT, GIA and other corporate functions
  • Lead the Cross Functional Sanctions team, facilitating bi-weekly meetings and related efforts that identify Sanctions challenges and drive remediation
  • Prepare updates regarding Sanctions Compliance Program to key internal and external audiences
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior management on trade compliance issues and their implications for business strategy
  • Monitor and analyze global trade regulations (e.g. OFAC sanctions) to assess their impact on business operations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on trade sanctions matters
  • Actively participate in team efforts to implement the existing TGO Compliance program as well as driving continuous improvement through assessment, modifications and implementation
  • Lead the team's efforts on the Risk Assessment and Monitoring Program, Policy Development efforts and other areas as necessary
  • Provide compliance oversight and guidance to LCOs with TGO responsibilities ensuring program elements are implemented and effective
  • Serve as the GC&E business partner to EMSO and other TGO functions as necessary
  • Support the GC&E interfaces with the BD team and related initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver presentations, communications, and training programs, relevant to addressing risk and stakeholder needs in an evolving environment
  • Other projects and duties as required/assigned
