About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, we're looking for a visionary leader who thrives at the intersection of purpose, community, and impact. As Senior Director of Community Engagement & Purpose, you will lead Gap Inc.'s social impact strategy-driving initiatives that amplify our values, energize our employees, and strengthen our reputation as a company committed to equity and sustainability. • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with experience influencing senior leaders and external partners.
  • Passion for community building, equity, and sustainability.

  • Gap Foundation Oversight: Support the vision and execution of Gap Foundation programs, ensuring alignment with corporate purpose and measurable impact.
  • Provide Executive Transparency: Deliver clear reporting and insights to leadership on purpose initiatives, media engagement, and emerging opportunities to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.

  • Own social media strategy for purpose-driven initiatives, ensuring authentic, engaging content that resonates across platforms.
  • Build and manage relationships with nonprofits, civic organizations, and government entities to advance shared goals in sustainability, inclusion, and community development.
  • Represent Gap Inc. in civic forums and coalitions to influence systemic change and support revitalization efforts.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to track effectiveness and reach of purpose initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments and develop scalable program designs that deliver measurable outcomes.
