About The Position

Sr. Director Chief of Staff - Bank Tech, Account Servicing The ideal candidate will have an exceptional track record of building strong business partnerships, demonstrated success in critical thinking and problem solving, experience with complex analysis, and ability to balance critical priorities across a wide range of responsibilities. The Chief of Staff should have experience in developing executive-ready presentations and telling a compelling story through data. Team Description The Account Servicing domain is one of eight pillars that make up the Bank Tech organization at Capital One. Bank Tech’s Account Servicing domain focuses on curating trusted, loyal, primary banking relationships with business and consumer customers by building, maintaining and securing digital experiences for Capital One. This individual contributor role will provide support to the Senior Vice President who leads Account Servicing, which comprises over 500 associates. Role Expectations This Senior Director, Chief of Staff role serves as a strategic partner to the Senior Vice President of Account Servicing. Key responsibilities include driving work through influence and adeptly managing stakeholders across all organizational levels. The successful candidate must possess a strategic mindset and strong storytelling skills, enabling effective partnership with business/LOBs. They will lead the entire lifecycle of initiatives, from setting the initial vision to end-to-end execution, and must be able to facilitate and enable platform vision building across large organizations. The work will include a mix of staying well-managed on existing intent (finding leverage points for efficiency) and owning new initiatives with autonomy. Furthermore, a critical aspect of this role is a commitment to curiosity, specifically leveraging AI and Large Language Model tools to bring efficiency to both the role itself and the broader organization to unlock maximum value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 9 years of experience in Chief of Staff, Tech Program Management, Product Management, or Project Management.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy development
  • 5+ years of experience in budgeting and labor strategy
  • 6+ years of experience driving organizational change and operational excellence
  • 3+ years of experience partnering with engineering and product teams

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with key stakeholders, lead the development and implementation of short and long term strategic programs for the organization
  • Deeply understand prioritization and delivery roadmap, helping to identify cross-tower dependencies to proactively manage impediments
  • Work to influence matrixed stakeholder teams to move the organization forward in a well-integrated manner
  • Lead the effort to drive organizational processes that enable success at scale
  • Partner with communications resources to enhance our organizational brand, highlighting the impact of our strategic initiatives
  • As new projects arise, work with leadership to determine feasibility, project and implementation plan
  • Champion unpopular ideas, even with senior leaders
  • Able to get up to speed quickly on key topics and navigate the organization
  • Drive organizational change and operational excellence
  • Serve as a trusted advisor with stakeholders and leaders across the enterprise
  • Regularly use strong business judgment, influencing skills, leadership and integrity

  • Leverage strong facilitation, negotiation and mediation skills
