About The Position

As a Development Manager at Aptean, you will lead a team of software developers working on cutting-edge AI-powered solutions. While technical expertise is important, this role emphasizes leadership, project execution, and AI strategy rather than deep hands-on AI development. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Python, TypeScript, or C#/.NET, a solid background in cloud environments (Azure or AWS), and a foundational understanding of AI concepts. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality software development, aligning AI capabilities with business needs, and fostering an agile, high-performance development culture.

Requirements

• Strong background in Python, TypeScript, or C#/.NET.
• Experience with Azure or AWS cloud environments.
• Understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, or AI-driven product development (hands-on expertise is a plus but not required).
• Familiarity with API development, microservices, and integration patterns.
• Proven experience leading development teams and driving projects to completion.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software development experience, including leadership or managerial roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Drive execution of AI-powered software projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Work closely with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to align development efforts with business goals.
• Oversee the integration of AI-driven functionalities into enterprise applications.
• Ensure AI capabilities align with product roadmaps and customer needs.
• Stay updated on AI trends and guide the team on best practices without needing deep hands-on AI coding expertise.
• Ensure software follows best practices in security, scalability, and cloud deployment.
• Guide architectural decisions related to Python, TypeScript, or C#/.NET applications in Azure or AWS environments.
• Manage API integrations, microservices, and data pipelines as part of the software development process.
• Act as the bridge between technical teams and business leaders, translating AI capabilities into strategic business impact.
• Provide regular status updates, reporting progress and challenges to senior leadership.
