The American Heart Association has an opening for a Senior Development Director located in the South Central PA area. This position is hybrid and can be based in Harrisburg, Carlisle, York, Gettysburg, Lancaster, Lebanon, or anywhere in South Central PA. The Sr. Development Director will report directly to the Executive Director while leading a team of 1 Development Director to achieve goals. The Senior Director of Development will plan, organize, and direct social campaigns, including the Gala Heart Ball, Go Red for Women, and Impact Campaigns. Leading the team to achieve or exceed this year's annual revenue goal of $975K. Develop and implement strategies for revenue growth through key fundraising events, strategic market partnerships, and philanthropic donors. Identify, nurture, and recruit C-suite and Upper-Level Management volunteer leaders. Solicit, activate, and manage relationships with key corporate and community leaders. Establish new accounts and cultivate new customers to increase revenue generation. Build a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance our mission. Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in corporate sales or fundraising, with at least one of those years supervising staff with a revenue goal, preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred; college coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor staff to use standard methodologies, timelines, and volunteer engagement practices to ensure that revenue targets are reached.
Ability to identify, cultivate, recruit, and establish relationships with senior-level volunteers/customers. Strong volunteer recruitment and management experience.
Validated experience in exceeding sales/fundraising goals. Understands how to navigate workplace cultures to achieve goals.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and social skills.
Must be willing to work outside normal hours, including early morning, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times.
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components, or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Guide and direct assigned staff to reach goals.
Accountable for hiring, directing, training, evaluating, and terminating staff under their supervision.
Ensuring your team meets/exceeds annual revenue goals for the South-Central PA market.
Engage, recruit, and mobilize CEOs, corporate leaders, and community leaders to serve on Heart Ball volunteer leadership committees and chair the event to ensure fundraising and health outcome success. This includes encouraging personal and corporate giving of volunteer leaders.
Lead existing and new sponsorships and relationships to achieve campaign goals through the cultivation, stewardship, renewal, and deepening engagement via frequent face-to-face meetings to retain and upgrade their financial dedication, according to the campaign's timeline and business plan.
Lead all aspects of coordinated planning processes for the social campaigns and revenue efforts for all functional areas within the span of control. Actively involve, inform, and integrate with internal partners across the metro market, affiliate, and association.
Develop and lead/monitor Heart Ball, Go Red for Women, and Impact Campaigns budget within the span of control and internal business operations in accordance with policies, fiscal standards, and the approved operating budget.
Prepares plans, documents, and communications for GAP (getting to goal) meetings, revenue projection updates, and other priority meetings as they arise.
Supervises event logistics, including, but not limited to, event promotions, entertainment, live and silent auctions (as market appropriate).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement market strategies, build blended sponsorships, and relationships with volunteers.
