The Sr. DevOps Engineer position is a multiyear contract role that requires a highly skilled individual with a strong background in Azure DevOps and cloud platforms. This role is pivotal in driving automation and developing best practices within the DevOps framework. The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, developers, cloud engineers, and operations teams to design, test, and deliver robust CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. The position is hybrid, allowing for work from various locations including Vienna, VA, Winchester, VA, Pensacola, FL, or San Diego, CA. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for hands-on automation, designing, building, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, as well as implementing Infrastructure as Code for enterprise applications. The engineer will also build and support highly available CI/CD tools and ensure that all practices align with DevOps principles and standards. A significant part of the job involves engaging with information security to enhance the CI/CD framework with DevSecOps practices and standardized security tools. The engineer will be a member of the Center of Excellence for DevOps practices, contributing to the development of policies, standards, and guidelines for CI/CD operations. They will provide guidance and training on best practices for build, test, and release management, and will collaborate on the CI/CD roadmap to identify gaps and dependencies. Additionally, the engineer will onboard agile product teams to the CI/CD framework and perform health assessments on pipelines to ensure effective delivery and quality control.
