About The Position

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Support Specialist to join the Information Technology team at the Prescott campus. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in Information Technology or a related field
  • Post-secondary education or certification in a technology-related discipline (6–18 months minimum preferred)
  • Proficiency with desktop operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Experience supporting mobile platforms such as iOS and Android
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP)
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and web conferencing tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across hardware and software environments
  • Experience applying project management principles and tools
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in higher education or academic IT environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support for desktop systems, peripherals, and academic technologies across campus, including labs and classrooms
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot multi-platform hardware and software (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Serve as an escalation point and mentor for IT team members and student employees
  • Lead and support IT projects, including planning, deployment, testing, and implementation of new technologies
  • Monitor and resolve service requests, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in ticketing systems
  • Support campus events and provide after-hours technical assistance as needed
  • Evaluate current technologies and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and user experience
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base resources
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders and IT teams to support strategic initiatives and technology needs
  • Stay current with emerging technology trends and drive adoption of innovative solutions
