About The Position

Are you a seasoned design professional ready to lead, innovate, and make an impact? Join our team as a Senior Design Technician, where your advanced technical expertise and leadership will drive complex utility design projects and elevate team performance. As a key contributor and team leader in our non-engineer technical support track, you'll: Lead utility design tasks including drafting, engineering calculations, easement validation, and cost estimating. Ensure all designs meet safety standards, construction protocols, and regulatory requirements. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, delivering on time and exceeding expectations. Collaborate across engineering, operations, and construction teams to align project goals. Resolve GIS and CADD conflicts to maintain data accuracy and integrity. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for technical challenges. Provide strategic oversight and quality assurance for team deliverables. Mentor junior technicians and support training initiatives. Champion innovation and implement process improvements across projects. Uphold safety and compliance in every aspect of your work.

Requirements

• Appropriate Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three (3)+ years of experience in design, permitting, construction management, project management, urban planning, civil engineering, or a closely related field
• Experience working with local jurisdictions and negotiating with agencies on permit requirements and conditions (preferred but not required)
• Computer‑Aided Design/Drafting (CADD) and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) experience (or ability to quickly learn); experience creating simple permit sketches preferred
• Functional understanding of Microsoft 365 and common ERP/CRM and scheduling tools preferred
