Position Summary: Responsible for the creation, execution and refinement of financial analysis and reporting. Configuring and monitoring the decision support system to ensure accurate data integration which is used to prepare analytics both internal and external on a timely basis. This role is critical to support operational and financial decision-making at management levels of the organization through accurate, actionable insights

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics or a closely related field is required.
  • Five (5) years of combined experience in healthcare decision support, healthcare financial analysis, and healthcare consulting.
  • One (1) year of information system support or implementation experience.
  • Computer experience required with an emphasis on finance-related IT and reporting systems (Cost Accounting, General Ledger, Financial Reporting, EHR), and/or database programs.
  • Extensive Excel experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPSI or Strata Cost Accounting/Decision Support modules preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC EHR is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends in standard and ad hoc reports to support operational and financial decisions.
  • Meets external filing requirements to CMS, IRS, third party auditors, etc..
  • Develops and maintains executive decision support dashboards and ongoing standard reports as required.
  • Train and support system users in system operation, report design and data qualifiers.
  • Develop solutions to meet customer reporting needs. May include building customize data fields for specific reports, explain data fields, and assist users in verifying results.
  • Develop and maintain adequate internal controls to ensure data integrity in DSS patient data from EPIC. This includes reconciliations and control total audits, and data dictionaries.
  • Identify and resolve erroneous or incomplete data and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop custom dashboards and reports utilizing advanced technologies and data visualization tools including, but not limited to, Tableau and QlikView.
  • Ensure master tables and custom created fields are maintained appropriately for reporting service lines, payor groups, physician specialties, clinical indicators etc.
  • Provide actionable data that gives insight into performance and profitability by service line.
  • Collaborate with SME’s on external governmental data submissions or other projects/applications requiring extracts.
  • Assists in the development and production of costing, service line and ad-hoc financial reports and analyses.
  • Contributes to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of data strategy.
  • Collaborate with corporate finance, accounting, revenue cycle and leadership to identify challenges and priorities.
  • Remain current on industry trends, key competitors and other market forces.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in cross functional teams and special projects as assigned. May be asked to chair or lead meetings.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Required to support various levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Ability to multitask and reprioritize projects based on executive leadership needs.
  • Completes all Orlando Health mandatory education.
