About The Position

SENIOR DATABASE ENGINEER Must reside in MN and have reasonable commute to St. Cloud, MN due to monthly in-office requirements. SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Monday–Friday 8:00am-5:00pm CST COMPENSATION: Starting Pay $103,000 – $128,750 per year (The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.) Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent program/experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on database administration and development experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in critical and analytical thinking, time management, and organization.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and business acumen, with the ability and desire to deeply understand the company’s data and evolve into a trusted data expert across multiple business domains.
  • Effective verbal communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake), including designing and operating cloud-scale data pipelines and analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Database Platform & Data Operations: Deploy, configure, and operate modern database platforms across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Ensure data security, governance, and access controls in line with best practices.
  • Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot database performance and reliability.
  • Manage solutions for database disaster recovery and high availability.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging data and database technologies.
  • Enable analytics by supporting datasets, reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
  • Automate operational tasks and support reliable, scalable data operations, including on-call rotation as needed.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and application integrations.
  • Business Intelligence Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and analytics architectures.
  • Integrate and curate complex datasets to meet evolving business and analytical needs.
  • Develop data transformation, modeling, and workload orchestration processes.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to support data access, insights, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure data solutions comply with regulatory, security, and company governance standards.
  • Third Party Application Support: Provide technical support and configuration for third-party applications.
  • Customize and optimize third-party applications through data models, database configuration, and integration patterns.
  • Other: Perform daily functions as needed or in the absence of department employees.
