Requirements

An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
5+ years as a database engineer with significant PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server experience.
Kubernetes administration experience.
Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning, backups, replication, recovery, and securing databases in regulated environments.
Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Crunchy Data, and pgEdge.
Required certification: EDB Certified PostgreSQL Associate or Professional or equivalent expertise.
Possess a DoD 8140 DCWF Role of 421 – Database Administrator with certifications such as Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP.

Responsibilities

Design, administer, and optimize PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases in on-premises and cloud environments.
Manage Kubernetes clusters and support containerized database and application operations.
Administer CI/CD pipelines and automation supporting database and application delivery.
Perform database performance tuning, backups, replication, and recovery.
Enforce access controls, auditing, governance, and retention policies.
Manage schemas, indexes, stored procedures, and permissions.
Develop SQL queries and reporting logic; support Power BI reporting needs.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborative delivery activities.
Support production operations with urgency and operational discipline.
Communicate technical risks, issues, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong customer trust through technical expertise, responsiveness, and reliability.
