About The Position

The Sr. Database Administrator I’s role is to plan, implement, manage, administer and support SQL based core applications for corporate enterprise needs. This includes IIS, SharePoint and TFS.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the management and oversight of high-volume clustered Microsoft SQL Server environments utilizing various SAN storage solutions.
  • Proficient with the use of SQL Server Management Studio, Query Analyzer, Profiler, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Business Intelligence Development Studio, and/or other third-party tools as needed in the management and troubleshooting of database applications that utilize the MS SQL Server DBMS platform.
  • Experience with SQL Server (Multiple versions) installation and configuration
  • Demonstrated experience with the configuration and maintenance of SharePoint.
  • Experience with Database migration and version upgrade.
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery Solution via log shipping or database mirroring.
  • Working knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization
  • Daily SQL Server support and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell
  • Ability to support proprietary developed software and open source applications.
  • Must be knowledgeable of server-class hardware and Network infrastructure best practices
  • Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with regulatory compliance such as HIPAA, PCI, etc.
  • Adhere to all PHI (Protected Health Information) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, professional training, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience working in a similar corporate environment
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, and occasional standing and walk.
  • Must have adequate hearing for phone work.
  • Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • On-call availability as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT management and department leaders in the planning and implementation of highly available corporate production and non-production applications, systems and core infrastructure to meet enterprise needs.
  • Configure and deploy applications software and systems to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Deploy new code and database updates to production environments based on a release schedule.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting of corporate enterprise applications and systems as required. (SQL, TFS, SharePoint, IIS etc.)
  • Monitor, maintain, administer and support enterprise SQL environments to meet or exceed service level agreements.
  • Create and maintain documentation as to SQL configuration, services, processes, security, and compliance configurations.
  • Help develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for the administration, usage of core enterprise applications and systems.
  • Conduct research on products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of best practices and methodologies.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors in the implementation and support of corporate enterprise applications needs.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for the administration, usage of core enterprise applications and systems.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the corporate disaster recovery plan.
  • Capture and categorize all work request in the ticketing systems and complete all work within documented SLAs.
  • Follow processes, escalations procedures, knowledgebase, standards, and daily operations.
  • Some travel to branch offices may be required.
  • On-site or remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  • Performs other business tasks or functions as assigned.
