About The Position

Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking for a Sr. Data Engineer who could join our team of professionals in a permanent role. Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Cognizant will not sponsor H-1B for this role. The position is located in North Chicago, IL and follows a hybrid model requiring 3 days a week in the office. We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Engineer with 9 to 12 years of experience in Data Warehousing and ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Informatica, Amazon Redshift SQL and Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle, Cloudera, PySpark engine for ETL tool (includes Nabu a Modak tool for orchestration) and Iceberg for DB. This role involves working in a hybrid model with a focus on data integration and transformation. Experience in Manufacturing and Supply Chain domains is a plus.

Requirements

• Possess strong experience in Data Warehousing Concepts and ETL processes.
• Demonstrate expertise in Informatica Scheduler and Informatica Powercenter.
• Have proficiency in Python, Pyspark, SQL and Unix Shell Scripting for data manipulation and automation.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model and adapt to changing business needs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data challenges.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Manufacturing and Supply Chain domains.

Responsibilities

• Good Knowledge on data platform mainly Oracle and Informatica.
• Migrating to Cloudera experience is required.
• Use PySpark engine for ETL tool (includes Nabu a Modak tool for orchestration) and Iceberg for DB.
• Someone who is strong in data platform migration has experience doing so.
• Self serve analytics they have created bespoke visualization applications.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Informatica Powercenter to ensure efficient data integration and transformation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements for data warehousing solutions.
• Design and implement data models and schemas to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
• Maintain documentation of ETL processes data flows and system architecture for future reference.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data warehousing and ETL to continuously improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies in all data-related activities.
• Collaborate with the IT team to integrate data from various sources and ensure seamless data flow across systems.
