About The Position

The Sr. Data Center Engineer is responsible for mapping data center networking solutions to business technology requirements. This role leverages Bank of America Data Network Standards to design data center constructs that meet technical and functional Line-of-Business requirements. The engineer will develop technology designs, supervise their implementation, verify functionality, and act as a technical consultant throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires collaboration with line-of-business and business technology staff to understand and meet project requirements, acting as a trusted partner to provide solutions. The engineer will engage in high severity production incidents and problem tickets in support of data network redesign requirements, adjusting designs to meet business-required levels of cost, reliability, and functionality. Additionally, the role involves understanding, formulating, and communicating complex designs with other technology partners within TI, assisting in the training of junior associates, and engaging program management and product engineering teams for process and application improvement opportunities. The engineer will also review system documentation for accuracy and provide feedback to product teams regarding the catalog of standard products and business requirements for changes.

Requirements

  • Possess end-to-end knowledge of the Data Center technical environment.
  • Experience working in or supporting data center network infrastructure for a large enterprise or carrier.
  • Experience with Arista Fabric, CloudVision, and EOS, and migration experience from Cisco to Arista Fabric - REQUIRED.
  • Worked with switching equipment for a minimum of 7 years (architecting or designing network solutions).
  • Clear understanding of current and upcoming trends in data center networking including Virtualization, TRILL/Fabric Path, Blade technologies, GRID computing, Low Latency switching, and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
  • Thorough understanding of the switching/routing family of products and their functionality.
  • Adept at mapping business requirements to technical designs for implementation.
  • Ability to assist in the resolution of complex issues during high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of staff, from technology implementation through senior management levels.
  • Capable of quickly learning new technologies and procedures.
