Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 11 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 - 9 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
  • Advanced SQL skills (T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, performance tuning).
  • Experience with ETL processes and tools.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one modern query engine (Trino, Snowflake, Databricks, Presto, Spark, or Hive).
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and M scripting for advanced analytics.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data pipeline automation.
  • Ability to communicate in English proficiently (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension).
  • Python knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science or related field.
  • Experience with Cloud Data Warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query).
  • Knowledge of Epicor ERP or similar enterprise systems.
  • 6+ years of ETL and data pipeline development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow or other orchestration technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows for data pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead data-driven projects.
  • 2+ years of corporate experience analyzing complex data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
  • 2+ years of corporate experience building and maintaining advanced Dashboards with data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Airflow, DAX, DBT, Git.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • 2+ years of corporate experience with at least one statistical or programming language, such as SQL to import, summarize, and analyze data in a professional setting.
  • Hands-on experience Java, R or other languages.
  • Hands-on experience with Airbyte, Data Load Tool or other ingestion tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data transformation pipelines using DBT (Data Build Tool).
  • Manage data ingestion, transformation, and storage through ETL processes.
  • Implement and optimize querying using modern data engines such as Trino, Snowflake, Databricks, Presto, Spark, or Hive based on business needs.
  • Utilize Apache Iceberg (or similar data lake table formats) to handle large-scale datasets efficiently.
  • Automate workflows using Apache Airflow, ensuring pipeline efficiency and data reliability.
  • Employ Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration with BI tools.
  • Regularly review BI dashboards, reports, and data pipelines for optimization and enhancements.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for version control and automation of data pipelines.
  • Utilize data partitioning, indexing, and caching strategies to enhance dashboard responsiveness.
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL queries to extract and analyze complex datasets.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, leveraging DAX and M scripting for advanced analytics.
  • Conduct data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling to derive actionable business insights.
  • Establish best practices for query optimization and performance tuning to support real-time and large-scale analytics.
  • Implement and promote self-service BI practices to empower non-technical users.
  • Provide training sessions on Power BI, SQL, and data literacy for business users.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI data models and semantic layers for ease of use.
  • Work closely with business teams to define data requirements and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to implement the best practices in data architecture, warehousing, and pipeline management.
  • Document technical specifications, data models, and process flows to ensure knowledge sharing and scalability.
  • Translate complex data insights into compelling narratives for executive decision-making.
  • Develop standardized report templates and KPIs aligned with business objectives.
  • Implement data quality assurance (QA) measures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve ETL workflows, BI dashboards, and analytics frameworks.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in data engineering, analytics, and modern data stack technologies.
  • Expand beyond descriptive analytics by integrating machine learning models for predictive insights.
  • Leverage Python-based analytics workflows for anomaly detection and forecasting.
  • Adhere to and promote proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices and company policies.
