About The Position

RedCloud Consulting is a business and IT consulting company with local Puget Sound Enterprise and Mid-sized clients. RedCloud seeks a Senior Data Automation Architect / Analytics Engineer to support immediate client operations. Seattle Business Magazine has recognized us, ranked #1 on their "Best Companies to Work for in Washington" for Mid-Sized Businesses list, awarded #1 Fastest Growing Company in Washington by Puget Sound Business Journal, and named on the Inc. 500/5000 list. Overview: We are seeking a highly hands-on Data Automation Architect / Analytics Engineer to modernize and automate an existing analytics framework that is currently heavily dependent on manual processes. This individual will partner closely with senior stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, redesign workflows, and evolve the solution into a scalable, self-service model that can be replicated across teams. This role requires someone who came up through development and data engineering, can operate as a peer to senior technical leads, and is comfortable questioning assumptions, interrogating data pipelines, and proposing more efficient architectures—not simply executing predefined tasks.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL expertise (must-have).
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (must-have).
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or willingness to quickly ramp up on Fabric ecosystem (Lakehouse, Dataflows, Pipelines).
  • Understanding of cloud-based data architectures (Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Kusto).
  • Deep comfort working with databases, data models, and analytics pipelines.
  • Experience automating analytics workflows and reducing manual operational overhead.
  • Ability to independently perform discovery: reading pipelines, reviewing queries, interpreting endpoints, and synthesizing findings.
  • Strong analytical mindset—able to identify better data sources, question existing logic, and surface insights the team may not have considered.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft analytics capabilities, including Fabric, Lakehouse, and related services.
  • Experience applying automation, analytics, or AI techniques to operational reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (business partnership skills are a plus, but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and automate manual data-scraping and reporting workflows currently driven by human processes.
  • Design parameterized, business-controlled automation patterns that reduce reliance on manual intervention.
  • Evaluate existing data pipelines, queries, endpoints, and refresh processes to identify inefficiencies and redesign for scale.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand current workflows, interpret how data is sourced and transformed, and propose improved approaches.
  • Architect solutions that enable self-service parameter management for business owners (e.g., CSA Leads), including: Configurable inputs Audit trails of changes Improved refresh cadence (e.g., moving from monthly to weekly)
  • Enhance and evolve Power BI reporting solutions, with a forward-looking approach toward Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Pipelines, Dataflows, and other related analytics services).
  • Serve as a technical thought partner to the broader team—reviewing existing implementations, challenging mechanical approaches, and asking “why” and “why not.”
  • Contribute to a long-term architecture that can act as a repeatable model for other Microsoft teams.
