The Sr. Data Analyst position involves creating and implementing an integrated roadmap for all aspects of data governance. The role includes developing, maintaining, and monitoring data governance policies and procedures, deploying technologies, ensuring compliance with standards, and providing updates on policy changes. The analyst ensures that data is secure, private, accurate, available, and usable, while interpreting enterprise data governance guidelines. The position aims to align data strategy and management practices with business objectives, fostering a culture where data is treated as a valuable corporate asset and adhering to regulations around data compliance to reduce overall risk.

  • Drives data governance by actively promoting improved data governance practices, enforcing policy, and following data governance best practices.
  • Writes SQL and Python code in support of report generation, data analysis, data profiling, and data quality rule development.
  • Harmonizes data in the systems through a collaborative process with members from various business units.
  • Establishes, maintains, periodically reviews, and recommends changes to data governance policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Conducts audits to ensure that policies, procedures, and metrics are in place for maintaining/improving the program.
  • Aligns the Data Governance policy with the overall goals of the business strategy.
  • Drives change in the organization to maximize the value of its data and plans for how the company will make those changes.
  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
  • Foundational level of proficiency in information and data strategy, managing change, Python, scripting, and dashboarding (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Advanced level of proficiency in data governance, IT standards and governance, data integrity, data quality, metadata management, SQL, and Excel.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in privacy governance technology enablement, data privacy, enterprise data management, ontology design, and master data management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and team skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, influence skills, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
