About The Position

Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform for the entire entertainment industry. The company consists of three primary lines of business: Xumo devices, Xumo Play, and Xumo Enterprise. Powered by Comcast’s global entertainment platform, Xumo devices feature a world-class user interface with universal voice search capabilities, making it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content. Xumo Play is a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service offering hundreds of linear channels and on-demand options. Xumo Enterprise provides tools and services for content creators, distributors, and advertisers to make FAST content more accessible. The Sr. Data Analyst is responsible for working cross-functionally to collect data and develop models to determine trends utilizing a variety of data sources. This role retrieves, analyzes and summarizes business, operations, employee, customer and/or economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, predict business outcomes and decision-making purposes. The analyst is involved with numerous key business decisions by conducting analyses that inform business strategy, including impact measurement of new products or features, optimization of business processes through robust A/B testing, clustering or segmentation of customers, deep dive analyses to understand drivers of key business trends, identification of customer sentiment drivers through natural language processing (NLP) of verbatim responses to Net Promotor System (NPS) surveys, and development of frameworks to drive upsell strategy. The position requires in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in data analysis, usually determining own work priorities and acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues. This role will also work closely with the Xumo Editorial & Marketing teams, responsible for creating and maintaining internal dashboards & reports based on stakeholder requirements, and creating, developing, and maintaining external customer reports & dashboards.

  • Bachelor's Degree (or some combination of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience)
  • 5-7 Years Relevant Work Experience

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Xumo Editorial & Marketing teams, responsible to create and maintain internal dashboards & reports based on stakeholder requirements
  • Create, develop and maintain external customer reports & dashboards
  • Work with business leaders and stakeholders to understand data and analysis needs and develop technical requirements
  • Determine relevancy of data and identify alternative data sources as needed to ensure analytics requested by business stakeholders can be completed
  • Analyze large, complex data to determine actionable business insights using self-service analytics and reporting tools
  • Query disparate big data platforms such as Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop, and AWS
  • Combine data as needed from disparate data sources to complete analysis
  • Identify key business drivers and insights by conducting exploratory data analysis and hypothesis testing
  • Develop forecasting models to predict sales, demand and other key business metrics
  • Analyze the results of campaigns, offers or initiatives to measure their effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate findings clearly and concisely through narrative-driven presentations and effective data visualizations to Company executives and decisionmakers

  • Stay current with emerging trends in analytics, statistics, and machine learning and apply them to business challenges
