About The Position

The Sr. Customer Support Engineer will enhance the customer experience by installing, maintaining, validating, and repairing PerkinElmer and/or multivendor instrumentation, including Waters Acquity and Alliance systems at customer sites. The role involves providing both scheduled and unscheduled corrective maintenance, delivering customer familiarization for instrument operation and maintenance, and communicating service offerings. The engineer will partner with customers to understand their analytical workflow and applications, supporting local instrument sales representatives to secure new orders and drive the sale of service agreements and instrument add-ons. The position also requires adherence to documentation standards, contributing to account profitability, and maintaining assigned assets. Continuous development of technical and soft skills is essential to enhance PerkinElmer's value proposition to customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related military experience and 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and qualification services in a laboratory setting.
  • Associate degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related military experience and 7+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and qualification services in a laboratory setting.
  • Ability to travel by air, vehicle, and/or other means of transportation as business requires.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Vendor issued certification on relevant laboratory equipment.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 and other business software platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, validate and repair PerkinElmer and/or multivendor instrumentation.
  • Provide scheduled and unscheduled corrective maintenance for customers.
  • Deliver customer familiarization for instrument operation and maintenance.
  • Communicate service offerings including training, support, software, and laboratory services.
  • Partner with customers to understand their analytical workflow and applications.
  • Support local instrument sales representatives to help secure new instrument orders.
  • Drive the sale of new service agreements and instrument add-ons.
  • Display exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Develop organizational awareness of other functional groups and product lines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of installation, warranty, and service agreement documentation standards.
  • Contribute to account profitability through efficient execution and service delivery.
  • Perform timely uploads and downloads of required service data.
  • Maintain assigned assets including company vehicle and tools.
  • Proactively develop technical and soft skills.
  • Enhance product quality by reporting improvement opportunities.
  • Seek higher level certification through company-sponsored training.
  • Complete all administrative tasks including time reporting and assigned training.
  • Maintain training and compliance in health and safety, security, and environmental aspects.
