About The Position

Works to expand the credit limits offered to CITGO by its counterparties. Carries out periodic discussions with key suppliers to provide CITGO financial updates and provide responses to supplier inquiries to assist with transparency. Completes varied complex and detailed financial evaluations for their portfolio, as well as reviewing evaluations presented by their Credit Manager, of domestic and international companies that are or have the potential of becoming customers associated with all CITGO business units. Commits the company to extend unsecured or secured lines of credit within the bounds of the delegation of Authority limits. Determines appropriate credit or financial risk exposure given expected economic returns on transactions with counterparties. Through SAP, RightAngle, and CubeLogic, monitors and manages CITGO's credit exposure to portfolio customers and suppliers. Obtains security from customers as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 7 years of job-related experience.
  • Requires highest level of financial skills to perform credit analysis.
  • Highest level of knowledge of corporate credit management policies.
  • Extensive skills to investigate, analyze & evaluate credit.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Letter of Credit documentary drawing requirements.
  • Basic understanding of UCC and business law.
  • Basic to moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • SAP, Cube Logic and RightAngle knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Business Units and suppliers to establish, maintain and expand open credit for CITGO.
  • Manage the tension between CITGO creditworthiness and supplier perception with written and verbal communications.
  • Schedule periodic discussions with key suppliers to provide summary information regarding financial results and provide responses to supplier inquiries.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for credit evaluation/approvals for new and existing counterparties.
  • Approve credit lines up to delegated authority limit; recommend credit lines above delegated limit to department manager.
  • Establish and manage the procedure to execute confidentiality agreements and credit default master netting agreements.
  • Establish and maintain a procedure to monitor exposures with established CITGO open credit lines.
  • Assist in the training and development of credit managers.
  • Review contracts and provide credit-specific input.
  • Assist the accounts payable department by vetting supplier payment inquiries.
  • Perform special projects/reports as requested by Management.
