Sr. Cost Accounting Manager
About The Position
Overview We are looking for a hands-on Senior Cost Accounting Manager to support our manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with plant leadership to improve cost visibility, drive financial performance, and support day-to-day operational decision-making. This is a great opportunity for a strong cost accountant ready to step into a more strategic, high-impact role while staying close to the business. What You’ll Do Partner with plant and operations teams to improve cost, efficiency, and performance Analyze and explain manufacturing variances (labor, material, overhead, PPV, usage) Maintain and enhance standard costing processes Support month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations Monitor and report on: Cost performance and productivity Inventory valuation and accuracy Budget vs. actual results Capacity and utilization Support forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning Identify cost savings opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2–5 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance Manufacturing experience preferred Strong understanding of: Standard costing Inventory accounting Variance analysis ERP experience required ( Epicor a plus ) What Sets You Apart Hands-on and detail-oriented, but able to see the bigger picture Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Comfortable working directly with operations and plant leadership Clear communicator who can translate financial data into actionable insights Self-starter who takes ownership and drives results Why Join Us High visibility and direct impact on plant performance Opportunity to grow into a leadership role Fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment Ability to influence cost structure and operational decisions #IND Maxcess is an equal employment opportunity employer. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
- Strong understanding of: Standard costing Inventory accounting Variance analysis
- ERP experience required ( Epicor a plus )
