About The Position

Overview: Responsible for preparing estimates on a variety of work that is primarily transactional with a mix of routine to complex arrangements as presented by Sales. Receive specifications from Customer Service and Sales, clarify any missing information and use pricing tools to generate pricing scenarios that best fit the customer needs. Build pricing estimates. Review historical quotes on renewals and update pricing to current costs.

Requirements

  • High School or GED HS diploma or equivalent, required
  • 5+ years of relevant manufacturing/estimating experience, required
  • Requires excellent knowledge of the functional area(s) related to the job or good knowledge related to a professional field of work.
  • Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job.
  • May provide oversight of work conducted by junior-level staff and/or review/audit work for accuracy.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of technology including computers and software programs such as MS Office or MAC word processing, spreadsheets, or other programs specific to the job in order to complete job duties successfully.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively across departments when completing assignments.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload and make adjustments to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Receive job specifications from customer service or Sales.
  • Review job specifications and apply knowledge of pricing and manufacturing to ensure that all aspects of the customer's project have been addressed and accounted for.
  • Contact Sales to gather missing/incomplete information required to price a job.
  • Enter specifications into pricing systems/software to build pricing scenarios.
  • Make selections for manufacturing equipment groups and locations to best match the customer's delivery requirements and offer the best price option.
  • May review historical estimates to determine the new estimate.
  • May make alterations to scenarios to offer customers multiple options.
  • Work with manufacturing operations on new or unique opportunities to ensure projects can be produced in-house.
  • May engage Sourcing on work that requires outside vendors to produce and establish cost basis.
  • Facilitate the management approvals required for price levels and contract terms
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
