About The Position

The Sr Consulting Engineer will integrate and deliver a wide range of technology solutions providing high quality content deliverables ensuring solution is implemented as designed to the client's satisfaction and approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree AND 5 years' experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation, and support OR Nine years' experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation, and support.
  • Minimum 2 years consulting experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Office 365.
  • Expert knowledge of Exchange 2010-2019 and Exchange Online.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Security and Purview.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft O365/Entra Identity.
  • Experience with Migration Tools such as Quest ODM/ BitTitan / Other.
  • Understanding of Windows 2008/2012/2016/2022 Server/AD domain infrastructure.
  • Ability to understand, assess and propose solutions for resolving customer questions and issues.
  • Proven project oversight responsibilities and mentoring of technical teams/consultants.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with leadership stakeholders and clients.
  • Professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners, and peers.
  • Proven ability to identify and deliver technical documentation that meets client defined expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially client and project changes, with demonstrated analytical skills to identify potential risks.
  • History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying lessons learned to unique problems, with a history of adapting to new technologies and determining their benefits for clients.
  • Must be able and willing to work beyond regularly scheduled shifts, including select weekends and overtime as necessary, to meet operational needs.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to other CDW locations or client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform client consultations including discovery, planning, design, and implementation of Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 technologies.
  • Implement and support Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Exchange (on-premises and online), including installations, upgrades, configurations, and security hardening.
  • Perform end-to-end Exchange migrations, including Exchange On-Prem, Exchange Hybrid, Google Workspace, and IMAP-based third-party platforms using native and third-party tools.
  • Execute Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations for various workloads including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Entra ID users and groups using various tools such as Quest On-Demand, AvePoint Fly, BitTitan.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (primarily PowerShell) to streamline administrative tasks, reporting, and bulk operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex Office 365 issues, escalate as necessary, and drive resolution to ensure minimal user impact.
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions aligned with project goals and technical requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to support client environments and internal teams.
  • Stay current with evolving Microsoft 365 and Azure AD roadmaps, features, and security practices, proactively sharing knowledge with peers and clients.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and hands-on training to client IT staff and support teams.
  • Support presales activities, including technical scoping, solution design, and client workshops.
  • Participate in internal initiatives, tool development, and continuous improvement efforts within the consulting practice.
  • Conduct advanced and complex engineering-related studies researching current and emerging technologies, evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations, and presents reports to management.
  • Regularly interface with technical and business staff of customers, including the project sponsor and stakeholders of projects in more complex engagements.
  • Mentor other engineers to apply engineering background knowledge for project design, analysis, and project coordination of services or products.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services Managers, ATAE's, Project Managers, and customers to manage expectations and timelines, ensuring that all commitments are met.
  • Maintain client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor.
  • Provide technical expertise in the analysis of client's requirements and objectives to develop IT services offerings that provide significant value to the geography.
  • Monitor and manage day-to-day operations of assigned complex projects including developing short and long-range goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Lead mid-size engagements with more mature products or packaged solutions and lead smaller projects with newer single technologies.
  • Provide input on technical details required for the project planning, interfaces well with PM and project teams.
  • Conduct advanced and complex engineering-related studies researching current and emerging technologies, evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations, and presents reports to management.
  • Able to troubleshoot complex, multi-technology, multi-vendor solutions and provide guidance on how to address issues.
  • Expert in a couple of technologies. Understands how other technologies interact with the technologies they have expertise with.
  • Understand client financial measurements, goals, and ROI.
  • Assist in hiring process with tech checks.
  • Become expert in a single market segment. Broad experience across many segments.
  • Participate in building best practices.

Benefits

  • Pay range: $95,000 - $148,190 depending on experience and skill set.
  • Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan.
