The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The Compliance Office at NC Medicaid has primary responsibility for ensuring NC Medicaid has an effective overall risk management and compliance program and conducts activities to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse of Medicaid dollars. Additionally, the Compliance Office works within the Division to assist in the identification and mitigation of business and operational risks to the program. The Senior Compliance Review Analyst (CRA) is a seasoned professional responsible for conducting internal control reviews across the Medicaid agency. This role ensures operational integrity by assessing compliance with state and federal regulations, identifying control gaps, and collaborating with leadership to design and implement mitigating strategies. The CRA will serve as a trusted advisor to program leaders, providing actionable insights that strengthen compliance and reduce risk. The CRA also monitors progress of remediation and corrective action plans to ensure risks are mitigated in a timely manner. This role plays a crucial part in fostering a culture of compliance within NC Medicaid.
