Responsibilities

  • Identify critical needs and issues to develop specific well completion designs and alternatives for consideration. Analyze historical company and industry completion designs to provide recommendations.
  • Evaluate well performance as a function of completion design, normalizing for all variables including well spacing, geology, design, depletion, parent/child interactions, etc.
  • Utilize multi-variate modeling and frac modeling software to sensitize frac design options and effectively communicate results.
  • Collaborate with the technical subsurface teams to understand the impacts of completion design decisions on drainage, frac effectiveness, and well spacing.
  • Work closely with reservoir engineers, completion execution engineers, geologists, geophysicists, and other professionals in the development of completion designs and diagnostics.
  • Test and implement new technologies aimed at cost reduction and/or improved well performance. Experience with fiber optics and perforation imaging a plus.
  • Develop correlations between geological and completion variables and their impact on well performance.
  • Analyze Fracture Injection Tests (DFIT, LOT, XLOT, SDT) using various methods, leverage learnings to improve frac placement, reduce operational challenges and associated costs.
  • Collaborate with drilling and geo-ops to synthesize post-drilling observations in completion design packages to reduce operational risk, improve target attainment and minimize NPT.
  • Integrate large data from various sources to formulate insights and make economic recommendations.
  • Communicate completion design plans, progress, and results to the Asset/Management team.
