The Sr. Commercial Finance Manager leads financial planning, commercial analysis, pricing strategy, and performance management for the organization while also overseeing Business Intelligence (BI) tools, data governance, and reporting capabilities. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Senior Leadership to drive profitable growth and ensure data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate blends strong financial acumen with a strategic mindset and deep familiarity with BI platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial planning tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • 5–10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic planning.
  • Proven track record of business partnership with operational leadership.
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and financial planning skills.
  • Expertise in profitability analysis, pricing strategies, and strategic financial decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long range planning for commercial functions (Sales, Marketing, Product, etc.).
  • Provide financial insight into revenue performance, margins, pricing, customer profitability, and product mix.
  • Build business cases, ROI analyses, and scenario modeling for strategic initiatives.
  • Support contract negotiations with pricing analysis, deal modeling, and commercial terms recommendations.
  • Analyze competitive trends, channel performance, and market opportunities to guide business strategy.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to set quotas, incentives, and KPI dashboards.
  • Monitor key financial metrics (e.g., EBITDA impact, gross margin, contribution profit) and present findings to executive teams.
  • Oversee the BI function, including data strategy, visualization standards, and reporting automation.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of dashboards across platforms such as Power BI.
  • Lead efforts to improve data accuracy, data definitions, and governance across financial and commercial systems.
  • Partner with IT and data teams to optimize data pipelines, integrations, and automation of reporting.
  • Translate business needs into analytical solutions; ensure stakeholders have timely, actionable insights.
  • Drive adoption of BI tools and self-service analytics across the commercial organization.
  • Serve as the primary finance business partner to Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Operations.
  • Provide decision support to senior leadership through high impact storytelling, presentations, and performance reviews.
  • Mentor and develop analysts within Finance and/or BI teams.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the company.
