GFT is seeking a Sr. Coatings Inspector to join our Construction Services team in Long Island, NY . This is a full-time, onsite opportunity to work on tank related projects, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in the field. What you’ll be challenged to do: As a Senior Coatings Inspector, you will support municipal water tank inspection projects throughout Long Island, NY. This role is ideal for someone with AMPP/NACE certification and hands on field experience in water tank or related municipal infrastructure inspection. This position requires traveling throughout Long Island, NY for municipal water infrastructure projects In the capacity, you will be responsible for the following:
Requirements
- Experience working on municipal water infrastructure projects in the Northeast region.
- AMPP certification: CIP Level I min
- Strong understanding of coatings systems, surface preparation standards, and inspection methodologies.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce thorough daily inspection reports and photographic records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows-based reporting systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capability to climb ladders, access elevated tanks, and enter confined spaces as required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and use inspection tools and equipment on job sites.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with AMPP QP-5 requirements and reporting.
- Knowledge of steel structures and corrosion control methods.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of elevated and ground water storage tanks, including surface preparation and coatings application.
- Document daily job-site activities through detailed written reports and comprehensive photographic records.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and industry standards.
- Communicate findings clearly with project managers, contractors, and agency personnel.
- Support multiple active construction or rehabilitation projects as needed.
