About The Position

Spearhead Growth as Company Expands to 2nd Shift | Hands on Role This company located in El Cajon, CA has been in the business since 1971 serving aerospace, defence, and energy companies across the country. With plans to purchase more machinery and expand shop capabilities, their 19,000 sq. ft. facility employees about 15 people and houses various milling, turning, and grinding machines. In this position, the Sr. Machinist and Programmer will work on set up, operation, and programming of 3-5 axis mills, lathes with live tooling, and more. This person will also help coach and mentor a team of machinists and influence decisions as the company grows. This is a 2nd shift position on a 4x10 schedule with occasional overtime available on Fridays. Benefits include: PTO Medical insurance 401K Responsibilities Train and mentor team members Review customer RFQ and provide accurate, timely quote responses Develop machining processes Program, set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for production and prototype work Edit programs at the machine Perform inspections to ensure conformance of specifications Interpret blueprints for specifications such as dimensions, tolerance & instructions Select and secure holding fixtures, tools, etc Perform daily maintenance of machines and/or troubleshooting Ensure safety and ISO9001/AS9100 standards Qualifications High school diploma or technical certificate in machining/manufacturing 10+ years previous experience in operating CNC lathe and mill machines G & M Code experience CNC Programming experience (SurfCAM is a plus!) Knowledge of safety protocols and shop procedures Effective communication and teamwork skills Please note this is an ITAR regulated facility. Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical certificate in machining/manufacturing
  • 10+ years previous experience in operating CNC lathe and mill machines
  • G & M Code experience
  • CNC Programming experience
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and shop procedures
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

  • SurfCAM is a plus!
