About the position
The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer role is a specialized position focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions, particularly within AWS. This 6-month assignment, based in Charlotte, NC, requires a hybrid work model with three days onsite. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance while contributing to the development and enhancement of public cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code solutions for cloud-based systems and applications.
- Contribute to the design, coding, testing, supporting, and debugging of software enhancements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to infrastructure deployment patterns and best practices.
- Implement custom preventative and responsive controls to improve the enterprise Cloud Platform.
- Design, develop, and prototype cloud-deployed services, APIs, and serverless applications using Terraform.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant experience.
- Expert knowledge of application and AWS architecture and related technologies.
- Proficiency in Terraform and experience implementing serverless and event-driven solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Python and the boto3 library.
- Expert-level knowledge of AWS IAM policy development for secure role provisioning and service control policies.
- Strong CI/CD process experience with tools such as Gitlab.
- Excellent technical documentation capabilities.
- Strong AWS IAM expertise.

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
- Relevant cloud certifications.
