About The Position

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Sr. Cloud Engineer. The Sr. Cloud Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining WWF’s technology systems. Primarily focusing on online infrastructure in Azure, and managing resources in AWS and Google Cloud as required. This position also entails supporting O365, servers/VMs, operating systems, security, and networking across both cloud and on-premises environments. Salary Range: $130,400 - $187,400 Please note: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in IT or related field and 8+ years of experience:
  • Managing enterprise IT systems for organization of equal or larger size.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing highly available and resilient Azure production systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, cloud networking, Entra ID, Office365, and Windows and Linux servers.
  • Significant expertise in building, deploying, and managing virtual machines in Azure from inception.
  • History of applying structured thinking to diagnose complex cloud or hybrid system issues and develop scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • Proficient in managing Windows domains and Active Directory.
  • Advanced skills in configuring Microsoft Entra tenants and domains, including DNS and VNET setup.
  • Experience in creating and administering user groups, Entra roles, role-assignable groups, and accounts.
  • Expertise in using PowerShell and Graph API for Azure management, workflow automation, and deployment orchestration.
  • Familiarity with provisioning and managing access for technologies such as Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Foundry.
  • Strong understanding of networking, including firewalls and load balancers.
  • Demonstrated experience with compute resource management and monitoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and project management capabilities, including development of comprehensive project plans.
  • Strategic acumen complemented by robust technical proficiency.
  • Well-honed methodologies for diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Prisma is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft Copilot for M365, Copilot Studio, and Copilot Agents into enterprise Azure/O365 environments, including configuration and governance of data access controls.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support WWF’s Azure infrastructure, including provisioning new subscriptions, resources, and roles to support organizational programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure the stability, resiliency, and robust protection of all cloud-based systems within WWF.
  • Develop, modify, review, and execute system backup strategies for all WWF platforms.
  • Analyze, establish, and troubleshoot network connectivity across Azure resources, VNETs, sites, and tenants.
  • Maintain, configure, and optimize WWF’s Azure environment.
  • Administer a variety of Azure virtual machines, including Windows domain controllers, IIS servers, SQL database servers, miscellaneous Windows servers, Red Hat Enterprise VMs, and redundant virtual firewalls in both production and staging environments.
  • Create, update, and provide support for Azure Enterprise Apps for Single Sign-On and AZ Proxy.
  • Manage DNS services within Azure and Cloudflare.
  • Develop and maintain WWF’s High Availability and Disaster Recovery playbook to ensure continuous operational integrity and swift response during incidents.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex issues related to Azure, Entra ID, RBAC, and Office365 for the WWF Network Services team.
  • Regularly update and patch systems to align with security requirements and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
