Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own. We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Shared Services team in Charlotte, NC. Pacific Life is maturing its cloud platforms to support its digital transformation journey. We are looking for a senior level cloud engineer that will help us build the capabilities for the organization to leverage cloud services safely, securely, and efficiently at scale. This individual will be part of a team of highly skilled cloud engineers who will help in building the next generation of cloud platforms at Pacific Life. They will be integral to the design and implementation of core cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines for build and deploy, cloud governance platforms and controls, and the necessary automation and best-in-class tooling to support it. The individual will provide consultation and guidance to these key areas and help us build a world-class suite of cloud-enabled capabilities. The successful candidate will have proven experience in achieving these goals in a large and highly distributed enterprise organization. They should be a team player, great communicator, insatiable learner, and business-value oriented. How you will help move us forward: Deliver and maintain software, scripts, configuration files, and other programming artifacts to implement robust solutions. Utilize core tools including (but not exclusively): AWS, Azure, Terraform, Ansible, and Azure DevOps Pipelines. Ensure end-to-end availability and performance of mission-critical services by building automation to prevent problem recurrence and automating responses to service conditions. Integrate and enforce security best practices across all cloud assets, including managing shared secrets, key rotation, and other critical security requirements. Collaborate closely with the corporate security team to deploy cloud security tools, enforce policies, and monitor access. Participate in the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of tools, software, policies, and procedures. Partner with business stakeholders, support teams, and engineering teams to provide comprehensive solutions. Review design and test plans from other infrastructure, information security, and application teams, identifying potential gaps and alternative solutions. Act as a recognized expert within the organization, contributing to the development of functional strategy and recommending process, product, or service improvements.
