Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland-based office) Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder Required Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt Why This Role Exists Fictiv is scaling fast — globally — and our cloud infrastructure has become mission-critical to everything we build and deliver. We’re looking for a senior-level Cloud DevOps engineer who wants real ownership: someone who enjoys designing resilient systems, improving reliability at scale, and making infrastructure boring (in the best way possible). This is not a “keep-the-lights-on” DevOps role. You’ll be shaping how our cloud infrastructure evolves as the company grows across regions, products, and customers. Location & Eligibility (Important) This role must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland office). Due to U.S. regulatory requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents (Green Card holders) can be considered. This requirement is mandatory and non-negotiable.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, SRE, or Systems Engineering roles
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Lambda, S3, RDS, ECS, CloudWatch, CodeBuild, etc.)
  • Strong scripting experience with Python and shell
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines in production
  • A solid understanding of cloud security best practices
  • Comfort troubleshooting complex issues in live production environments
  • Clear communication skills and a strong sense of ownership

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve AWS-based cloud infrastructure supporting production systems at scale
  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using CloudFormation and infrastructure-as-code best practices
  • Improve reliability, availability, and observability across environments
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native tools
  • Support and optimize serverless architectures (Lambda) and containerized workloads
  • Lead infrastructure upgrades with minimal downtime and strong rollback strategies
  • Partner closely with software engineers, security, and platform teams
  • Participate in shared on-call rotation and incident response
  • Document systems and processes so knowledge scales with the team
  • Contribute to and uphold Fictiv’s Quality Management System (QMS)
