UPMC Williamsport has an opening for a Full-Time Sr. Clinician to join the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit located at the Divine Providence Campus! This position will be scheduled 40 hours per week and will work evening shifts. Weekends and holidays will be assigned as needed. Qualified nursing professionals who meet the requirements for a Clinician and/or Clinician Fellow title will also be considered for this role: Clinician Fellow Requirements: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience. BSN not required at time of hire, but non-BSN candidates must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire or transfer and complete the program within 3 years of enrollment. Clinician Requirements: Minimum 3 years of nursing experience. BSN required; Master's degree preferred. Purpose: The Sr. Clinician is a highly developed role model of professional nursing practice with focused expertise and accountabilities in one or more of the following: expert clinical practice, teaching/development, and/or evidence-based practice. This senior role leads the unit through difficult and complex EBP, process improvement to advance their specialty, and partners with management in the achievement of a culture of excellence in professional nursing practice and patient care. The Sr. Clinician, under the direction of the Unit Director or Department Manager, assists in the completion of employee evaluations, selection and hiring of staff, and in performance management. The Sr. Clinician has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The Sr. Clinician, in collaboration with other health care professionals, applies superior clinical knowledge and skills to achieve improved quality of care and work environment outcomes through the integration of research and best practices. The Sr. Clinician is responsible for providing service-based education and clinical expertise for staff including orientation and training, consultation on practice issues and general coordination of clinical activities on a shift basis. They must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care that is relevant to patients under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The Sr. Clinician also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.
