About The Position

Coordinate all computer applications and programming in collaboration with vendors. Facilitate the department’s one-to-one physician training initiatives. Works with Physicians and clinical staff members to increase their utilization of clinical systems, through the development of personal preferences and templates to enhance the physicians’ workflow within the clinical system and in the medical center. Construct needs assessments, develop training tools, and schedule and execute sessions to meet the aforementioned goals. Work with inside/outside vendors to provide supplemental training programs to physicians and other clinical staff as needed. Creates reports and data analysis from IS systems in the department for Executive Director. Responsible for billing, ordering, and account reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience with computer technology and cardiac systems applications.
  • Experience working in a hospital setting and medical terminology
  • Must possess excellent organizational, presentational and listening/verbal skills.
  • Should possess a propensity for technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, preferably in a health care or information technology related area.

  • Masters in business or computer related science preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a high level of expertise and competence in the proper operation and optimal use of assigned applications.
  • Draws on own experience to consult and advise users, management, physicians, and other clinicians concerning the purpose, features, functions and proper uses of applications.
  • Analyzes physician work flow and provides system tools for identified efficiencies.
  • Provides data and statistics from the department systems to management and actively participates in the analysis of potential application modifications, upgrades, replacements, extensions, or additions that result from changing business conditions or the availability of new technology.
  • Helps to identify the need for new systems and clarify user requirements for automation.
  • Acts as a point of contact for clinicians and staff as practiced and workflow constraints are identified and related to system content and automation.
  • Create/Design and update training documents, skill units, computer aids, reference tools, practice exercises and skill assessments utilizing a variety of formats.
  • Work closely with other developers and trainers in supporting the customer service development needs for all physicians training.
  • Customize programs to meet local medical center and individual physician and clinician needs.
  • Adhere to training/developing practices, instructional design methodology, and tools for every situation to ensure the appropriateness and timeliness of our actions.
  • Increase physician and clinician competence and use of Cardiac Services technology tools.
